Iolite processed dataset obtained through LA-ICP-MS analyses of zircons.
To assess the timing of tin, copper, and indium mineralization in the Herberton Mineral Fields, geological sampling was conducted from the Baal Gammon and Isabel deposits and the surrounding area for zircon geochronology. Samples were taken from the tin-bearing UNA Porphyry, quartz-feldspar porphyries, volcanic rocks, and meta-sandstone from the Baal Gammon mine. Similar units were sampled from the Isabel deposits. From the regional geological units, samples were collected from the Jumna Granite, Herberton Hill Granite, Watsonville Granite, and the Slaughter Yard Creek Volcanics. Zircons were separated from these samples and analyzed for U-Pb isotopes by LA-ICP-MS at the Advanced Analytical Centre of the James Cook University, Townsville, Australia. The data included in this publication are the U-Pb isotopic ratios with their derived ages. Zircon LA-ICP-MS data were processed through the Iolite software, and only concordant ages of the granites, volcanics, and standards, and 10% discordance age for the meta-sandstone are included. The data was used in an Open Access publication of Kumar et al. (2022) on the geological setting of the Baal Gammon and Isabel deposits.
